Privacy policy
What we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to get it removed. Written to be read rather than skimmed past.
1Who we are
This site is operated by HC Marketing, trading as Boost Hospitality — "BOOST", "we" and "us" throughout this policy. Our registered address is 109 Merley Ways, Broadstone, Poole, Wimborne BH21 1QP, United Kingdom. We work with hospitality and visitor-economy businesses across South-East Asia.
We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected] or call +66 88 924 7878.
Because we are established in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 govern how we handle your information. Where we handle personal data belonging to people in Thailand or elsewhere in South-East Asia, local law — including Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act — may apply in addition, and we comply with whichever gives you the stronger protection.
2What this policy covers
It covers this website, boost-tourism.co, and the enquiries we receive through it. It does not cover the separate agreement we enter into when you become a client, or the accounts we work in on your behalf — those stay in your name and under your control, and your own policies apply to them.
3What we collect
What you give us
The enquiry form asks for:
- Your name and email address, which are required
- Your phone number, which is optional
- Your business name and city, which are required
- The type of business you run, which is optional
If you book a call instead, that runs through Calendly and you give your details to Calendly directly. We receive the booking and whatever you enter on their form.
What we collect automatically
Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, the kind of device and browser, and how you arrived. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit. We use it to understand which pages are read and which are ignored. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with anything you send through the form.
Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site available.
4Why we collect it, and on what basis
- To reply to your enquiry
- The form says we use your details to reply once, and that is what we do — no list, no sequence, no sharing with anyone else for marketing. The basis is your consent, given by sending the form, and our legitimate interest in answering people who approach us.
- To understand how the site is used
- Analytics, on the basis of consent where consent is required, and otherwise our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works.
- To keep the site up and secure
- Server logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the site safely.
5Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies are the ones Google Analytics sets to measure visits.
You can refuse them. Every major browser can block or delete cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics everywhere. Blocking them does not change how the site works — nothing here depends on a cookie.
6Who else handles your information
We keep the list short, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes:
- Google — Analytics, and the two typefaces this site loads. Loading a font discloses your IP address to Google
- Calendly — if you book a call
- Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of this site
- Our email provider — so we can read and answer your enquiry
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other agencies, advertisers or data brokers.
7Where your information goes
We operate from the United Kingdom and work across South-East Asia, and the providers above are international, so your information may be processed outside the UK — including in the United States, the European Union and Thailand.
Where information leaves the UK we rely on the safeguards the law requires: an adequacy decision where one covers the country, and otherwise the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses with the provider.
8How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can find the history if you come back, and are then deleted. Analytics data follows Google's own retention setting. Client records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires, which is currently six years.
Ask us to delete your enquiry sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
9Your rights
Under the UK GDPR — and under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act or the EU GDPR where those apply to you — you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct anything wrong or incomplete
- Delete it
- Stop or limit how we use it
- Send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable form
- Object to us using it, including for analytics
- Withdraw consent you have given, at any time
Withdrawing consent does not undo anything done before you withdrew it.
10How to exercise them
Email [email protected] and say what you want. We will answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that we do not hand your information to someone else. There is no charge.
11If you are unhappy
Tell us first — most things are quicker to fix directly, and we would rather know.
If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live — in Thailand, the Personal Data Protection Committee. You do not need our permission, and complaining costs nothing.
12Children
This site is for business owners and operators. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
13Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your contact details, we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
